Today is our daughter’s birthday.
Her life is filled with love and blessing and today we’re spending another birthday, making sweet memories together.
My husband’s birthday is two days from today. His life is a miracle from Hashem and we’re building a life together that we thought would never be possible. We’ll be spending another birthday with people we love doing Kingdom things.
My father‘s birthday, may his memory be a blessing, was two days ago. His life was filled with pain, addiction, mental illness, and loneliness. There was a brief period of time where my family was able to pour into him love family, community, and the salvation of Yeshua. His birthdays have ceased and are now just faded memories of missed opportunities and longing for something that cannot be.
Each of us, though, have the opportunity to take those memories and that longing we have and pay it forward in a positive way. We can do Tikkun Olam, repair the world. We can create in our circles the very things that are lacking in this broken world. We can create a reality where the generations to come will be far more blessed than the generations past.
So, make today a little better than yesterday. Give an extra hug. Send an extra text. Share a little bit more of the Yeshua in you to the world around you. It’s the simple things that make a world of a difference.
Combat the brokenness with Tikkun❤️
