Tonight we gathered with friends and family to consecrate the month of Elul. We enter tonight into a month of intense introspection and spiritual preparation as we count down to the High Holy days of Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot. These Holy Days are appointed meetings, scheduled by the Holy One himself, blessed be He. Let us enter into this time expectantly as we dive into the purpose of these Mo’edim, to understand His mercy, grace and redemptive plan brought to the goal by the promised Moshiach, Yeshua.
Here are some beautiful and meaningful ways to observe this month leading up to the holy days:
*Hear the sound of the shofar daily to wake from spiritual slumber. He’s coming soon! “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a rousing cry, with a call from one of the ruling angels, and with God’s shofar…”
*Read Psalms 27 daily to reflect on Adonai’s mercy and grace. “I am confident of this, that I will see the goodness of Adonai in the land of the living.”
*Right any wrongs with family and friends. “Let there be peace so much as it depends on you.”
*Take account of how you have spent the year and how you want to use time more wisely for His glory. “For the days are evil so make the most of every opportunity, redeeming the time.”
