Fast Of The Tenth Month

Turning away from Adonai...

Stepping away from His protection...

That is what Israel of old did in the years leading up to 588 BCE.

The 10th day of the 10th Biblical month of Tevet, known as Asarah b’Tevet, falls on January 3rd this year. It is a day of mourning, fasting, and repenting, the day to remember the start of the Babylonian siege on Jerusalem that culminated in the destination of the First Temple, the Beit HaMikdash, on the 9th if Av, and the Jewish exile from the Land of Israel.

On this day, the horrors of the siege that lasted 30 months began.

2 Kings 25:1-2 speaks of the siege on Jerusalem led by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in 588 BCE. "In the ninth year of Zedekiah’s reign, on the tenth day of the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army. He encamped outside the city and built siege works all around it. The city was kept under siege until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah."

Famine overtook the city as mothers turned against children and husbands against wives.

Desperation and depravity accomplished a work in Israel that was unlike anything else they had experienced before.

Ezekiel 24:1-2 and Jeremiah 52:4-6 mention this in detail as well.

Although Adonai warned Israel not to forget Him...

Although He told them in advance what would happen if they went after the ba'alim, leaving His hand of divine protection...

And although they still chose to chase the poisons that almost kiiled them off as a people...

ADONAI IS FAITHFUL TO REDEEM.

Zechariah 8:19 says, “Thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot, ‘The fast days of the fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth months are to become times of joy, gladness and cheer for the house of Y’hudah. Therefore, love truth and peace.’ "

Even something as extreme as this, a nationwide, self inflicted disaster caused by rejecting Him,

He overthrows in His mighty relentless love.

And he doesn't just overthrow it, he completely redeems.

If He is able to do this on such a grand scale for the Israel,

Is He not also able to do this for you?

Whatever you have been struggling with this past year, whether you have been a victim of the bad choices of others or an active participant in something that's left you starving spiritually on the inside, Adonai in telling you that the day of mourning is becoming a day of joy in Yeshua's name!

The famine ends now because the Bread From Heaven is here!

The thirst ends now because the Warer of Life is here!

The siege and slave work ends now because where the Spirit Of The Lord is, there is freedom and Yeshua made a way for all who call on the Name Of The Lord to receive the Spirit!

And the mourning ends now because the joy of the Lord is our strength!

If we fast now, it's not for ourselves.

We fast now for those who need this revelation and liberation b'shem Yeshua. ❤️
